What Is a Float Value?

Every CS2 skin has a hidden number between 0 and 1 called the float value. This number determines which wear category the skin falls into and how scratched or worn it looks in-game.

Wear Tiers

• Factory New (FN): 0.00 – 0.07
• Minimal Wear (MW): 0.07 – 0.15
• Field-Tested (FT): 0.15 – 0.38
• Well-Worn (WW): 0.38 – 0.45
• Battle-Scarred (BS): 0.45 – 1.00

Why Low Floats Are Valuable

A 0.00 Factory New skin can be worth multiples of an average FN, especially on Covert skins. Some collectors hunt specifically for extreme floats.
